DIY Crafts

Recently, I've come across several DIY (Do It Yourself) projects that yield to beautiful hand-made craft, and this can be made by you, yourself. Here are some of my faves today:

Retro Decor

Lovely retro lamps & the beam roof support of a hall.First one was in GKI Cibunyut Bandung & Second one was in GKI P.Polim Jkt.Looks like these 2 churches adopted the same architecture era style, not really sure when.

Claude Monet & the Impressionists

I'm currently reading a book on Claude Monet's life & paintings. Discovered:

- Monet ternyata adalah salah satu inisiator aliran impresionist (berawal dari salah satu judul lukisannya)

- Monet berteman akrab dengan Renoir, Sisley, dan beberapa painter lain yg juga beraliran impresionist (Cezanne)

- Impresionist sangat anti menggunakan warna hitam. Sebisa mungkin, warna hitam akan dituangkan dalam warna lain, seperti ungu tua atau biru.

- Lukisan Monet umumnya tidak terlalu detil tapi dia sangat mementingkan suasana dan permainan cahaya.

- Dia senang melukis pemandangan dari sebuah perahu untuk mendapatkan titik pandang yang rendah, serendah permukaan air.
